I personally use quality rechargeable AA batteries with high capacity cells.
I do not recommend standard disposable AA batteries. They will die off rather quickly from experience and that's even name brand quality batteries.

A:AnswerI think you were misinformed. There was such high demand for this controller during the holidays. So much so, that it was out of stocked everywhere. Even at Microsoft website/stores. They are back in stock at some places. That being said, I've also heard of a newer version may be released sometime at the end of the year though too.
