  • Questionthe antenna works in a basement??thanks

    Asked by Jahman.

    • Answer Historically basements are problematic locations for antenna reception. Television signals will not penetrate the ground and in most cases basement walls are concrete with steel rebar inside them for support. Yet another signal blocker. If your basement has windows above ground, place the antenna in the window. If that doesn’t provide good reception, try moving the antenna higher, either by taping it to the basement ceiling near the window, or moving it up one floor and running the coaxial cable down to the basement TV.

  • QuestionI’ve had this antenna for less than 6 months and it stopped picking up most channels. Any suggestions on how to resolve.? No change in conditions, it’s near a window so I’m baffled. Repositioning didn’t help. Right now disappointed in product

    Asked by Lili.

    • Answer Unless your local TV stations have moved their broadcasting antennas, it is possible the unit itself has stopped working. On the Internet, find the Company and Customer Service page. Contact the company directly. Most of these kinds of units have a 1 year warranty. If the unit is still under warranty, they can advise you on how to get a replacement. Being nice when dealing with customer service representatives always goes a long way in getting the help you need. Good Luck.

  • QuestionCan I add a longer coaxial cable to the Curve® 30 Indoor HDTV antenna? Which 25 foot coaxial cable is recommended to reach my window? Thanks!

    Asked by DFWFalconsFan.

    • Answer I have the curved and flat powered MOHU antennas in my home. Any quality coax cable should work. You may choose to purchase a powered flat MOHU antenna instead. I have two of them and they work great. One is mounted on the wall behind a picture above my large screen TV and you’d never guess an antenna is in the room.

    Asked by Maria.

    • Answer It doesn't HAVE to be but we find that it does work best when in a high spot in a window. Test it several places to see where you get the best reception.

  • QuestionMy TV is a flat screen but it is not high definition. it only has an input for the cable wire to screw on. will this work on my TV.

    Asked by Sasha.

    • Answer This is an antenna and will work with any TV, digital or old analog, HD or standard? It just helps capture RF signals out of the air and convert to electrical signal your TV tuner can use.

  • QuestionHooked up and can only get 3 channels...what gives?

    Asked by Gillie.

    • Answer Most TV stations save money by consolidating all their broadcast stations to a single location. They share towers. Use the Internet to find out where the broadcasting stations are located in your city. It is possible you are pointing your antenna in the wrong direction. It is also possible your broadcasting stations are too far away from where you are. There is a limit to how far your antenna can be from the transmitting towers. Try relocating your antenne and do another channel scan. If you go online with social media, see if you can find out who else in your area using similar antennas. If they all get good reception and channel scans, it is possible you may have a bad unit. Get with the company itself on a replacement. Be nice to customer service reps and they tend to go out of their way to help you. Good luck.

  • QuestionOn the mohu arc can you use a amplifier? Does the amplifier have to be from mohu?

    Asked by john.

    • Answer You can add any brand amplifier to our antennas. While we do not have a specific amplifier you would need to look for an amp that has at least a 15dB gain. The amplifier that comes with our antennas has a 15dB gain.

  • QuestionWould this work in a ground floor apartment which is next to next to another 3 story apartment building?

    Asked by NELEE.

    • Answer Hi NELEE! Thank you for your question. In an apartment building, even indoor antennas can be tricky. Try placing the antenna as high as possible, as trees and buildings can block the TV signals. You will also need to face the antenna towards the largest cluster of towers in your area. You can download our FREE app Antenna Point from iTunes or Google Play or visit our website using the following link to see the towers in your area https: https://www.gomohu.com/tv-for-free.html. You may need to move the antenna to several locations to find the best reception. Remember to rescan for channels at every location you place the antenna before permanently attaching the antenna to any surface. If you need assistance, call us toll-free at 1-877-825-5572 and we will evaluate your home location for you and provide tips on receiving the best signals. The call and support are free. We are available 7 days a week.

  • QuestionI just heard about Roku. I would like to know more about it. How much better is it than getting cable movie channels and internet through somewhere like Suddenlink or places like that quality and cost wise. What ALL is needed to get started.

    Asked by Beginner.

    • Answer Roku is a streaming service, it turns a regular TV into a smart TV. You still need an internet service like CenturyLink or Xfinity or Bright House, etc. It has a few more choices than most smart TVs and Blu Ray players. But you still have to pay for most services like Netflix or Amazon prime or any of the premium channels like HBO. We cut the cable cord over a year ago.

  • QuestionCould I use this in Lima Peru (using IDBT system of Digital TV) Thanks and Regards Luis Bonilla

    Asked by Luis.

    • Answer In theory, as long as the country has UHF or VHF, the antenna should work there. The country it is being used in must have a UHF or VHF frequency. Our Leaf (non-amplified) antenna - needs to be 35 miles from UHF towers and/or 10 miles from VHF towers - but there can be no terrain interference between the transmitting tower and the location being used. You must have a TV that has a digital tuner inside and cannot be used with houses that have metal roofs, aluminum siding, stucco, fire escape, bars on windows, etc or any other metal barrier. You would have to find out how far and in what frequency the towers are transmitting from. There are other variables involved with over-the-air transmission but we do not have access your country's broadcasting data in relation to specific locations. Another thing to keep in mind is that most international countries use 220V power outlets which a special socket. Unless the amplifier can be powered by USB from the Television's USB port, you would also have to purchase the appropriate voltage converter. Unfortunately at this time we are not set up to take orders internationally. You may be able to find a re-seller on Amazon that ships out of the U.S but if you wanted to purchase one here in the U.S. and bring it with you this is what you would need to know about your situation.

  • QuestionCan I hook this up to my Dish Network DVR so I can get the local channels free instead of paying Dish Network $12 a month?

    Asked by Dave.

    • Answer I'm afraid not. The Dish converter box is proprietary so it only works with the Dish Network's system. You can purchase DVR's that are compatible with OTA antennas but I'm afraid that the cable/satellite companies are not going to make it that easy for you.
