“Would this phone be an upgrade from the 2015 x pure edition? I have the x pure and am thinking of buying this phone but only if it's better than what I currently have.”

Battery life is likely a bit better than the Moto X Pure, and the new Moto G5+ has an octa core processor. Is it an upgrade? Debatable. The G5+ is going to get OS updates longer than the Moto X from 2015, for sure. Not sure if that alone is worth it, but I think if you look at the whole package, buying is the right thing to do, unless you can wait for the next Moto X.

I'm not sure which Moto x pure you have. but the Moto g5 and g5+ have finger print scanners as well as touch navigation compared as well as on screen buttons. I'm fairly sure the snapdragon is an upgrade due to new version coming out. I would recommend this over the x pure. I've had the X Puré, Moto Z and Moto G5+(for an extra 150 you can get the Moto Z with Moto mods, they're amazing).
