Thanks for your interest. The device does make and receive calls however it depends on your preferred carrier if your area has great signal from their service. -Jess

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I live rural and work rural and have had this phone for 3 months now and have not lost a call. My old phone was a three- year old Moto G+ and I think that I havet better reception with my new one. Hope this helps.
