Regarding Tracfone use, unless your service locks your SIM to a particular phone, and if your SIM fits the nanoSIM format, you should be able to use it. The phone is a sealed phone, so the battery is not meant to be replaced by the user. There are guides posted online to allow you to learn how, but generally component replacements on sealed phones is better left to the folks trained at the service desk. Your service provider has your services (ie. data, voice, and text) linked to the hardware via your SIM card which can be transferred into a new phone, if the format is correct. If not, a replacement SIM for your service contract is also possible to set up, generally.
