- Answer If you are only using them for cable internet, and they require DOCSIS 3.0, this should work for you. If you are doing a bundle with them that includes voice, you may need a Telephony modem. If you have fiber or dsl service, this modem will not work for you.

QuestionI do not have a PC, can this be set up without connecting to a PC or laptop? I now have an older router that had to be configured with my PC so is now not secure... I only have an I pad and Android phone..

- Answer You do not need to have the router wired to a computer to configure it. I used my Samsung Note 4 to set it up and activate it and then logged into it on my other devices as usual. This is the first router that I have had that can be initialized wirelessly. It surprised me to find that out!

QuestionWe currently have a router, My son would like his own separate router in his room to make his gaming quicker. Will this router interfere with the other router in the house. He will be the only one connected to this one.

- Answer If you place a router behind another router, he will not see any increase in speed. He will actually experience a drop in speed, due to the double Network Address Translation that will happen with 2 routers. This is not a solution for his complaint.

- Answer It should depending on how fast your internet is. And any router + modem is called a gateway i don't know why best buy doesn't tell you that. Maybe because all the people that work for them most of them no nothing about computers or internet tech and are under 21 years of age.

- Answer Computer is old suggest a new one but you need a cell to download Netgear app or nighthawk app same thing i believe and you need to connect it to wifi during setup and create a router name and password. I did anyways.

- Answer I'm using Spectrum and it was like Plug'n'Play to set up the modem. The modem has two wireless broadcast signals/channels that you can connect to, (5g and 2G). If your computer doesn't support 5G signals you can connect to the 2G. Another option is to buy a USB 5G wireless adapter.

- Answer I just purchased mine a few weeks ago, and have a 2000 sq ft house. I have signal everywhere. I asked a couple of my neighbors if they saw my router on there computers, and they all said yes. So it does have good reach. Happy New Year!

- Answer According to what's on the description box of the product, it should work fine with Spectrum. But if you want to make sure, I would recommend that you called up Spectrum and let them know that you want to use your own Cable modem router and what kind of requirements will the modem/router needs to have in order to work with their service. When I ask my internet service provider, they let me know and I went out the next day and got it. It works great and I don't have to pay an additional amount each month to rent one from the internet service provider.
