  • QuestionCan i reduce the resolution to 2k or 1k to increase recoding time?

    • Answer Thank you for the question and happy to help. In the advanced settings for the recorder you have a number of options to extend video recording before over-writing older video. Indeed you can change recording resolution, but it is key to remember that lower resolution may make it harder to see what is happening, especially at further distances.   • QuestionSo I bought this system on 8-27-24 and all was good then all of sudden after we unplugged it it said no hdd detected so I was sent a brand new dvr which I got today and we hooked it all up and now this one is saying no hdd detected! Why is it doing this?

  • QuestionCan I connect locally to this DVR from my PC on my wireless network without Internet?

    • Answer Thank you for the question and happy to help. You can connect directly to the DVR via the included mouse and HDMI out cable if your computer monitor has available input. To use your computer to access and control the system entirely you'll need the DVR wired to the internet to access though. For optimal security the system creates it's own secure connection to our servers and those require internet to access via other device (mobile, tablet, computer).   • QuestionWill these record all the time or only when they sense motion? Can they do both? How long time wise will the storage last constantly recording? Thank you.

    • Answer Thank you for the questions and happy to help as you evaluate systems. You have the option to run continuous recording or just event based recording. You can control this via the system settings. Also, you can save events as long as you'd like to but we advise using a USB flash drive to export important events for safe keeping separately on another drive. The record time is dependent on a number of settings you will have control over. Each can impact the duration of recording. With a 2TB drive you should be able to continuously record multiple days without issue, but specific duration is not easily determined. Thanks, Night Owl SP Digital Support Team
