A:AnswerI also own a D90 and the only reason to upgrade is to a Nikon FX camera, which is extremely expensive (but worth it) and it requires all new lenses. My suggestion is that when you're ready to upgrade, upgrade to an FX camera.

They work like any other filter and have different magnifications. They can be used individually or stacked. I found a Vivitar set of four for $20, it's been the best purchase I have made.
A:AnswerThe lens hood is laughable. It's tiny and cheap. Most likely with an f1.8 you will be shooting mainly in low light conditions which preclude the need for the hood.
