You do not get any vacuum bags with the cooker have to get that yourself amazon has a huge selection for under fourty bucks bags and the vacuum device. Will it be as good as a standalone sous vide device, maybe not but if it's not something you do enough to justify another two hundred dollar investment this is probably good enough for most of us. I've seen a youtube on this machine using sous vide mode.
A:AnswerYou can always use parchment paper as a liner too. It works very well. And grape seed oil is good up to 500° I think you could use that too. But oil needs to be cleaned up and that can be messy sometimes
