You'll need at least 2 USB in addition to the HDMI out. You'll need 3 if you use the touch also. I'm going to experiment with a powered USB hub to see if I can free something up. Right now I only have 4 USB ports to work with.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I own the Rift if you are not using the touch controllers it needs three free 3.0 USB ports for Rift and Sensor + one USB port if you plan on using the included XBox controller to play games.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you get it with the touch controls you need an HDMI and 3 USB ports. 1 less USB port needed if going without touch controls but the touch controls greatly improve the experience. (Touch controls come with a second sensor that improves accuracy of movement in the games which is why it takes another USB port)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll need 2 HDMI ports. 1 for your monitor and one for the headset. 3 USB 3.0+(1 for headset and each additional for the first two sensors.) Additional sensors (you need 3 total for room scale VR) will require USB 2.0 ports. The Xbox One controller adapter will also require a USB port(at least one game requires the controller initially(EVE: Valkyrie)). If memory serves that'll be what's required for the setup. Keep in mind you'll likely need ports for your mouse and keyboard and any other peripherals that you would like to use. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I hope it's not too late. Or maybe this answer will help someone else. The Rift needs just one HDMI port. But you want to have the ability to also have your computer plug into a monitor. So I use my HDMI port on my video card for the Oculus headset and the older VGA port on my computer from the motherboard to run a plug from the PC to my TV so that I can see my computer's desktop on the monitor. In total The Oculus headset needs 1 HDMI port and 1 USB 3.0. If you have Oculus TOUCH you will need 2 more USB 3.0 ports for the two TOUCH cameras. That's three 3.0 USB ports in all. Some people like to buy a third camera (they're called SENSORS) for their RIFT set-ups. In that case you would need an additional 3.0 USB, but that is optional and not required. I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Head unit uses 1 HDMI and one USB. Then each sensor uses 1 USB slot each. So a total of 2 to 5 usb slots(this includes 1 to 4 sensors) and One HDMI slot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I stand corrected on my previous post, My rift needs 2- 3.0 usb's + 1 HDMI port. In addition to 1 more usb port for the included XBox controller. If you buy the touch controller you will need 1 more 3.0 usb port for the sensor. SO 3-4 available ports needed and 1 HDMI.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You only need one hdmi port for the headset. For USB you need 2 USB 3.0 if you're going to use the headset without touch controllers. If you're using touch controllers you need 3 USB 3.0 for standing vr with touch controllers. If you want to do roomscale you need 3 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0. Also, you may need another USB port to plug in the Xbox one controller adapter, but that is not required unless you use the Xbox one controller.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Rift requires 1 x HDMI + 1 x USB 3.0, you'll need 2 more USB 3.0's for the tracking sensors. The Xbox One controller / receiver requires its own USB 2.0 port, but that's unnecessary if you plan on only using the touch controllers. The total for minimum operation is 1 x HDMI, 3 x USB 3.0. You can add a third sensor for room scale VR, but that can be on a USB 2.0 port - you can order a third sensor from Oculus, which comes with a long extension cable as well.
