A:Answer The buttons refer to a cell phone that can be paired to the handset. With this model, 2 cell phones can be paired to it. When paired, you can use the handset to speak using both your landline or cell phone. Additionally, you can set which handset will use notifications for each cell phone (handset 1,2,or 3). Example, I have my cell paired with the phone and have it set to notify me of cell calls or texts on the handset in my home office so it doesn't disturb my wife in the other room. The whole thing works pretty good. I just wish the speakerphone was louder.
