A:Answer The smaller number is the amount of RAM which is what eventually slows down the computer - but I'm always running several programs at once, and NEVER turn off my computer until it freezes or starts acting really weird. I imagine I reboot my computer about once a week on average, but I don't notice any real difference in speed between reboots - more likely a program will freeze up long before the RAM fills up enough to significantly affect the speed. Just my own experience; I am certainly not a computer whiz and someone might provide a better answer. One thing I will say is that my HP computer is going on 6 years of being on continuously; this is about twice as long as most other computers seem to last. I'm in the market again, and will likely consider only HP again regardless of price.
