A:AnswerYes. There is and app specifically for this unit in both iPhone and Android flavors. You just have to connect the unit to your WiFi network before the app recognizes the unit. The app then has the same functionality as the remote, but with a graphical interface.
A:AnswerAs there are no pre-amp input/outputs or a tape loop on the rear of the receiver, I would say no. Still an excellent receiver one that I am thinking hard about owning. It's between this and the Onkyo TX-8160. I've given it several months and need to decide. I too own an nice pair of 901s and should I want to use them I have a 40+ year old receiver with two tape loops. Bingo!
A:AnswerAs this receiver has both coaxial and toslink digital inputs and analog RCA inputs, it should work well with the digital or RCA outputs on you TV. The speakers should hook right up to the rear of the unit.
A:AnswerThe sound going on and off switching channels may be from your provider more than the receiver. We would need some more information to fully answer your question as well, like how often does it stay off? Does it do it on every channel? I would recommend going into a Magnolia store if there is one by you and asking for some help.
A:AnswerHarmonic distortion? Not sure but no wow and flutter and no rumble
