  • QuestionCan a solar panel be added to this Ring doorbell to help the battery?

    • Answer I had a solar panel that was compatible with my previous Ring 3+ video doorbell that I've used for years. It is now charging this new doorbell just fine. Not sure of the make and model. But from photos of the install directions from the Amazon site, I THINK it is a Satinor Solar Panel Compatible with Ring Video Doorbell 2 but I can't be certain. Not certified for the new doorbell so use at your own risk if you find one. No longer in stock. Carried it forward to the Ring 3+ and now this one. Has a ribbon cable that plugs into the battery itself (charging port) and runs down the back of the battery and out the side of the casing up to the solar panel. No guarantees but it has worked for me. Fact that one that worked with the Ring Doorbell 3+ works in this one should be encouraging at least.

Secure the doorbell to the wall using the screws in bag A. Re-insert the battery into the doorbell. Re-attach the faceplate. A shared user cannot change system settings or account information but can view cameras, receive notifications, and view and share videos. Access to particular cameras can be granted or taken away by the owner. If you have a Ring Alarm system, the shared user can also arm and disarm the Ring Alarm system and unlock any lock they've been given access to by the owner.
