  • QuestionWe currently have a ring doorbell camera we purchased at Best Buy we just switched over to Spectrum and the ring device will not connect up with the wifi network. Is the model 2 not compatible with 5g router? Is the new model compatible?

The Ring Video Doorbell 3 requires an 802.11 b/g/n wifi connection at 2.4 GHz and a minimum upload speed of 2 Mbps for optimal performance. The Ring Battery Doorbell Pro is compatible with an 802.11 b/g/n/ax wifi connection at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and requires a minimum upload speed of 2 Mbps for optimal performance.     • Answer I had this problem too initially. I bought a chime to connect to the ring doorbell and placed it distance wise between my ring and my router. I positioned/plugged the chime in closer to my router and solved this problem. I hope this helps!

This particular Ring doorbell does allow for you to hard-wire it to your home's existing doorbell wiring, which will allow for your internal chime kit to sound-off when someone rings the doorbell button. A Ring Chime will be required for audio notifications around your home when you are not near your mobile device, if you do not have a doorbell transformer rated 8–24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz.
