Your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is an MHL compatible device (http://www.meetmhl.com/DoIHaveMhl.aspx), so this adapter should work with it. As far as your audio issue, I would advise you to contact Samsung directly, as it may be a hardware-related issue.
