Questionhow to reset the controls on the outside of the door?I leaned against the controls and they went off, all the food is spoiled now. cant' get them to reset properly.

- Answer read the manual. If you press the word freezer on the freezer door it will show various temperatures. I set mine to -2*. If you touch the word refrigerator (which is on the riight side of the same panel, you can change the temperature by pressing it. I keep my fridge at 38*

QuestionFreezer defrost.Every once in a while the freezer will defrost. Does the Samsung side by side have an automatic defrost time. If so how do I shut it off

- Answer The RS265TDRS and other Samsung refrigerators are self-defrosting, meaning the heaters in the walls cycle on and off periodically to help prevent frost from building up on the walls inside the freezer. This function cannot be disabled and should not effect the ability of the freezer to maintain its set temperature. Thank you for the question, Ms. Samsung

Question1st Q :Water Dispenser/ 2nd Q: Cleaning1st question my water dispenser always seems to leak a liitle after we get a cup of water can thhis be prevented? 2nd question in the Samsumg book it states to clean with mild soap and water but my fingerprints still do not go away what should I buy to clean it properly?

- Answer Thanks for the questions. It's normal for a few drops of water to continue to come out when the lever is released, so Samsung recommends holding the glass under the dispenser for a couple of seconds after releasing it. However, if there are more than just a few drops, it's possible the water filter is clogged or partially clogged and needs to be replaced. The filter is designed to last about 6 months, but may need to be changed sooner if your household use surpasses the volume the filter was designed for (about 300 gallons), or if your water supply has a high level of impurities. Regarding the second question, there are a number of products available that are specifically designed to clean real stainless steel. Simply follow the instructions on the package, being careful to apply them only to the stainless steel surfaces of the refrigerator. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but can help prevent fingerprints from recurring. Regards, Ms. Samsung

- Answer I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty dispensing water from your RS265TDRS refrigerator. Please make sure the Water function is selected on the control panel, then press the lever back to the first detent. The dispenser lever on this model has 2 stages; the first is for water and the second is for ice (see attached image). It's also important to bleed air from the lines when installing or replacing the water filter. You can do this by pressing the lever for an extended period of time until water starts to flow, then continue to hold it until about 5-6 gallons of water are dispensed. If the filter becomes clogged or partially clogged, it may need to be replaced. Under normal circumstances, the filter should be replaced about every 6 months. If none of the above suggestions helps to resolve the issue, please check the water line leading to the door as shown on page 14 of the user manual. Thank you, Ms. Samsung

Questionhow many LED lightsI am wondering how many lights should be in the Center light strip of the refrigerator. I see 6 but it looks like there should be 8 plus the 2 over the crisped.

QuestionMagnets and rs265tdrsI just bought this fridge last week and have been able to put various magnets on the front. It is my understanding that magnets should not stick to the stainless steel surface. The unit was manufactured in June 2012. Has something changed with the materials used?

- Answer Thanks for the question. Some types of real Stainless Steel are magnetic. The RS265TDRS does have a real Stainless Steel finish, so if magnets are sticking this is simply an indication of the type of metals that are in this particular stainless steel alloy. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer Yes they do, caps on the top cover up bolts and quick disconnects for the ice maker. Fairly easy to do.

- Answer The letters "OF" on the display of your RS265TDRS indicate the Cooling Off mode has been activated. To cancel this mode, press the Lighting and Freezer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and a numeric reading returns to the display, allowing you to set the desired temperature. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionHow long does it take a newly installed refrigerator to reach set temperature?We had our RS265TDRS installed early this afternoon and it has been plugged in and "running" for the last 6 - 7 hours. Since that time the refrigerator and freezer compartments have actually increased in temperature. The freezer is set to 0 degrees (F) and the refrigerator is set to 38 degrees (F). Kind of confused as to why the unit is getting warmer instead of colder. Any idea if this is normal, how long it takes to reach the set temp or what may be causing this issue?

- Answer If you had the fridge shipped horizontally, then you didn't let it sit up right for about 6 hours to let coolant reach equilibrium again. Unplug and let sit for 6hours, then try again. If not, you broke the cooling unit, return it.

- Answer It's fine to remove the internal filter cartridge from the RS265TDRS as long as you have an external filtration system in place to remove mineral deposits or debris that could damage the water lines. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer From what I see, the water system is designed to go THROUGH the filter, so no filter- no water. Bad filter, no water. Bottom line, get a new filter.

- Answer There are a few screws on the plate at the bottom of the doors where the water lines run. Mine was leaking from the orange line that goes to the freezer. Normally requires cutting and remaking the connection, but on mine the line was too short and required a new door.

QuestionHow many inches of clearance minimum do the doors require to open?I am designing a new kitchen and because I am tight on space, I would only have 3" of room on one side of the fridge next to the wall. Will these 3" leave enough room for the door to swing open and allow me to access the drawers?

- Answer Samsung recommends leaving at least 2" clearance on each side of the RS267TDRS, along with 2" above and behind it, to allow sufficient air flow and ease of movement. In addition, in order to gain full access to the drawers and interior of the side by side refrigerator, the doors should really be able to swing open to the full 135-degree angle. - Answer Looks like 5. But it does seem like there is one at the top that is out. Will have to check that. I have had my fridge for about a month so would not expect any burnt bulbs that quick but who knows. Hope that helps.

- Answer While it is not unusual for the digital temperature on the display to vary by up to 4 degrees compared to the actual temperature in the refrigerator or freezer for several reasons, if you're measuring a difference of 6-11 degrees, your refrigerator may require service. QuestionFridge protrudes way too far past base cabinets for my linking. AWKWARD.Does anyone else have a problem w /the fridge sticking extremely far out past your cabinets ? That extra 3" just makes it extremely awkward because it juts out into the room so far. Mine is up against a wall and I just don't like how it protrudes.
