QuestionOn what side on the back of the stove is the gas line connection?We are having a plumber come out to install a gas line and need to know where the connection is on the back of the stove (left or right?)

- Answer The gas line connection is located on the lower right side when facing the rear of the FX510BGS. Please see attached for the recommended gas and electrical connection locations, which can also be found in the installation guide that comes with the gas range. Thank you, Ms. Samsung

The knobs on the FX510 gas range are made primarily of a high temperature plastic, weighted for durability and ‘feel’, then chrome-coated and brushed for a “stainless look”. This design ensures an optimal combination of durability, aesthetics and safety. Metal knobs are not available for safety reasons. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionIs it normal for the center burner (for grill) to have a low flame, even on the high setting?I love my new range, but I tried to use the center burner for the first time today, and even on the high setting, the heat is like medium-low on the other burners. This will certainly not boil a large pot of water in a reasonable time, and it took forever to cook a pancake. Does it need adjustment?

- Answer Thanks for the question. Each burner on the FX510BGS is designed for a different level of BTUs (the amount of gas allowed through each orifice), which determines the height of the flame. The center oval burner is rated for 9,500 BTUs, which is nearly double that of the right rear simmer burner (5,000 BTUs), but much less than the right front power burner (17,000 BTUs) as well as the left front (15,000 BTUs). If your center burner does not appear to fall within this range, I would suggest contacting your installer or another licensed technician to adjust the flame height for you. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer The convection feature on the FX510 gas range means that it has a built-in fan in the back of the oven that helps to circulate the hot air so food cooks more evenly. "Hidden Bake" refers to the fact that the source of heat used for baking on the bottom of the oven is covered. While this is standard in gas ranges, and in Samsung's electric range models, many electric ranges have exposed heating elements on the bottom. Thank you for your questions, Ms. Samsung

- Answer Thanks for the question. This term usually refers to the heating element at the bottom of electric ranges; some electric ranges have exposed bake elements while others, such as Samsung's line-up of electric ranges, have hidden elements. This is not generally a differentiating factor in gas ranges since the bake burners are hidden to disperse the heat and prevent exposure to the flame. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer Thanks for your interest. The FX510BGS features regular convection (no additional heating element) with one fan to help circulate the hot air evenly throughout the 5.8 cubic foot oven cavity. If you prefer True Convection, you may want to consider the upgraded FX710BGS which also features a warming drawer and griddle for the oval cooktop burner. - Ms. Samsung

QuestionIs the control panel a true touch screen? Or membrane-type that has to be pushed?Do you have to just touch the control panel on this model or do you have to actually push the control/button? I have a Samsung refrig and it is true touch. I just bought the NX583GOVBSR oven and the controls seem a little hard to push. Is the FX510 the same membrane-type control?

- Answer You do have to touch the buttons a bit to choose your setting or what you want. It's not just a touch screen where you would barely touch past a setting. Now it's not hard to push, pretty easy actually! In all, we love this stove and find it pretty high end.

- Answer Thanks for the question. The glass panels in the door of the FX510BGS and other ranges must be vented to allow the panels to cool. This helps to prevent the door from becoming too hot. - Ms. Samsung
