  • QuestionIn reference to the answer to question...Can the bottom ice tray be removed .. Please explain why the bottom ice maker bin can not be removed and that space used for extra freezer space when bottom ice maker is turned off. I currently do on older model.

    • Answer Greetings! We are glad to clarify details about the usable space under the ice maker in the freezer compartment of this Samsung refrigerator model. When the ice buckets are removed and the ice maker is disabled, the space can be used for extra space as long as the food will not touch the ice maker as it can damage it when food solidifies/gets frozen. It is not recommended to use the ice buckets for food storage as there is a high risk of frozen food damaging the ice maker when its doors are opened or closed. Leo

  • QuestionCan the Water dispenser/Ice Maker be run without a filter? We just had Culligan installed so it is already filtered so there isn't much of a point to another filter

    • Answer Hi there, Yes, the refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser can run without the filter. If you do not want to use the internal water filter, you need to remove the filter. In addition, Fingerprint-resistant finishes on refrigerators are designed to minimize smudges and make them easier to clean, but they don’t make the surface entirely immune to fingerprints. Leo

  • QuestionDoes this ice maker make crescent shaped ice?

    • Answer It makes crescent shaped ice in the door dispensary. You can select crushed ice from that location. It will then crush some of the crescent ice. The freezer makes large cubed ice (one to one and a quarter inches in size). These are dropped into a collection container. It also makes cubes that are one half inch square. These are deposited into a second collection container.
