• A:Answer I use this monitor with a Surface book II, Greatest monitor I've ever had. It works with either HDMI OR Thunderbolt, (the new semetrical micro USB). Better 2 way communication with the Thunderbolt, I think.

Q: QuestionI have an older PC that does not have an HDMI port. I want to connect this monitor to my PC and be able to use the built in speakers. Is this possible? What type of cables would I need to buy to connect the PC to the monitor & speakers

• A:Answer There is no seperate audio input. Sound would have to come via the HDMI or ThunderBolt 3 ports. However, you may be able to find some sort of adapter where you can connect the source audio (line in) and source video (VGA/DVI) and have the HDMI out carry both audio and video signals.
