- Answer Thanks so much for asking, Bpnote20! According to page 19 of the user manual (https://bit.ly/3feRevd) an "L" on the display panel indicates the child lock feature is engaged. Page 21 has more detailed information about the child lock feature, including how to turn it on/off. ^Jecca

QuestionWhere can I find the energy rating (estimated kWh usage)? I need to know if I need to add solar panels to my power system if I add this cooktop and replace the gas cooktop I already have in my net-zero home.

- Answer These induction cooktops are generally a good choice for an electric solution in a net zero home. I would contact the manufacturer for a kwh rating for this model. Of course, it will also depend on how you use it - how many burners at what setting and for how long - few people use these at or near their capacity all that often or for a long period. You’d likely find an electric oven or clothes dryer creates a much higher demand.

Regarding your concern, this is the measurement of space you need for this cooktop to be installed. A. 337/8" - 34" (860 mm - 864 mm) B.191/8” - 193/16” (485.6 mm - 487.6 mm) C. Min 11/8" (28 mm). Between cutout and the wall behind the cooktop D. Min 11/2" (38 mm). From the front edge of the cutout and front edge of a countertop E. Min 1" (26 mm). Distance nearest left and right side combustible surface above cooktop. F. Junction box or outlet 10" (254 mm) maximum from right-hand side of cabinet G. - Answer It comes with a cord but needs special installation (it is not a regular electrical outlet connection). It has to be on a dedicated breaker. Installation is highly recommended.

QuestionI would like to install this induction top in the counter above a built in wall oven inserted in the cabinet directly below it. Will the heat from the wall oven negatively effect the induction top? Mainly their electronics or circuit boards for example.

- Answer Cookware for induction cooking must contain some iron or steel to create a magnetic field with the cooktop. This is how the cookware is heated. Most induction ready cookware is so listed on its packaging or on the site where it is sold. Some nonstick cookware, although mostly made of non-ferrous materials, will have a ferrous bottom element added to make it work with induction cooking.

- Answer Yes it does at times. There is no concern. If anything , at least you know it is working. Its electricity that your are "creating a short circuit " with anyways. I will never go back to gas or electric now.
