  • QuestionI live in New York City and the power company here, Con Edison, only delivers 220v, not 240v. In my apartment I measure 208 volts. Will this unit still work?

    Asked by cresny.

    • Answer Good day, Most electric dryers in the United States use 120- or 240-volt, 60-Hz AC power. Some need 120 or 208 volts. Electrical service is permitted at 60 Hz. A 30-amp fuse or circuit breaker on each side of the line is required. If you use a power cord, make sure it's plugged into a 30-amp receptacle. Electric dryers sold in the United States do not come with a power cord. The cord is offered separately. We recommend that you consult with a certified electrician before installing the dryer in your home for any additional instructions. -Kimberly

  • QuestionDoes this dryer need access to a drain? Or is there a tank that needs to be emptied?

    Asked by Nick.

    • Answer Hi Nick, We thank you for your question about a drain or a tank that needs to be emptied on this Samsung dryer model. This dryer has a built-in water tank that needs to be emptied manually before or after each load, however, you can install the provided long drain hose and have the water emptied into a nearby sink or drain pipe automatically.
