You can use these Samsung M.2 drives in a PCIE slot BUT only if you buy a separate PCIE M.2 adapter. It is a 4x card that plugs into the PCIE slot with a M.2 socket mount. You would insert the Samsung drive onto the card and then install the card into the PCIE slot. These adapters are not expensive, usually between $15 and $30. Newer motherboards have M.2 slots on the boards by default and don't require the adapters, but older boards need them to work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you cannot just slap it on any PCI Express slot. It has to be a M.2 2280 form factor. Check your user's guide.

It is quad pci bus through the M.2 slot which is how it gets the read write speeds it does. You could get a pci express board with M.2 slots on it but I doubt it would be able to get the same speeds as he M.2 slot on a modern motherboard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this goes into a special M.2 slot, and the gigabyte p85-d3 doesn't have that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.no you cannot. you need to install it directly into a m.2 pci-e slot if your motherboard has one. there is also a option of getting a adapter and installing the 960 evo onto the adapter then installing the adapter into a regular pci-e slot.
