To answer your question, SmartTag uses a CR2032 battery, a small lithium battery shaped like a coin. It’s the same kind of battery that is usually used in wristwatches. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.About 6 months, depending on use. The battery is replaceable and not difficult. It updates you on it's life %. I haven't replaced the battery yet. Its around 20% now. The black device i have thats similar has a longer lasting battery
