QuestionCan someone just plug it in to a normal outlet and it work? I want to buy it for my mother who does not have a smart hub just normal plugs on the walls. So she can control the lighting in the house.

- Answer She will need the Smartthings Hub for this outlet. I only have experience with these since I have a SmartThings hub, but there are some smart outlets that don't require a hub, do a search for Smart Outlet on Best Buy and on the left where it lets you choose filters, choose Hub not needed. It will show you all the different ones that don't need Hub

QuestionI have a Nvidia Samsung Smart things hub on main floor. I then also bought a Samsung Water leak sensor for the basement, but its too far away from main hub so doesn't work. I was told I need a repeater in the basement. Would this work as a repeater?

QuestionI am thinking about getting one of these for our family house that no one is living in currently. If I got someone to plug it in, could I set it up and control it from far away-- another state? Or do I have to be present in the house installing it?

- Answer You can control it from anywhere. It works over the internet. And you can control it from your cellphone.

- Answer This is a Zigbee device and could be a repeater for other Zigbee devices, but will not repeat any WiFi signals.
