    • Answer Bought this model yesterday, after my 20 y/o Dyson finally bit the dust. I do NOT recommend it if you have wool rugs. It's way too hard to push on them and even harder to pull the vacuum back, plus it beats the heck out of the rug, even on the highest setting. Also do not recommend if you have arthritis or are older as both my husband and I find this design to be awkward to manage and use. The suction is great, true, but if I can't use it, that doesn't matter! It will be returned on Monday.

    • Answer It is a spong fliter so I believe you could hand wash and let air dry. I have not had mine long enough to get it that dirty. However, it does really get that deep down dirt in carpets. and if you have pets and used other so called pet vaccums just to have them jam or get clogged I have two dogs that shed all the time and this has yet to cause any issues.

    • Answer Thanks for your input! I had an older Shark that had lights on the floor nozzle AND lights in the handle. Thought it was the best thing ever. Replaced that vacuum years later and the new one did t have it. Couldn’t imagine them not making that a standard thing on all vacuums! Makes cleaning under things so much nicer! It’s time to replace my vacuum again and I want o e with a lighted handle - that also has the new Brian roll that doesn’t get tangled with hair. Sigh.

  • QuestionRegarding the build quality of the vacuum... Is the extension wand (the one that's rose gold in this case) made of metal or plastic? Trying to avoid another broken vacuum with no available replacement parts like my other Shark vacuum that snapped in half.

  • QuestionWill this work on a carpet nap that is 1.5” tall. My back-up vacuums, a Shark Navigator lift-away, will not work on this carpet. The beater brush won’t operate. Is this unit more powerful than my current Navigator? Will it work on this thick carpet?

    • Answer Yes, it will work. I use it on my shag rug. Instead of having a regular brush roller, it has “fins” on the roller so it doesn’t get tangled in thicker carpet.

  • QuestionWill you need to replace the self cleaning roller? If so, how often should it be replaced?

    • Answer Mine stopped spinning after only 12 months and you have to replace the entire floor nozzle unit (the main part of the vacuum that holds both brushes) It is not covered by the warranty and costs about $100 w/shipping.

  • QuestionDoes headlight work in lift-away? I'm a LOYAL Shark Lover & have owned MANY models; current is Slim DuoClean. I ONLY wish the headlight worked with lift-away engaged. I'd LOVE to have this one, but can't afford. Maybe 1 day!
