A:Answer One way is to connect cable box or blue ray player to a reciever (receiver must have surround sound capablities,most do) using the HDMI connections, then connect it to your tv. Another way would be to connect cable box or blue ray player to a reciever using only the fiber optic portion to the receiver and the HDMI portions of the cable box or blue ray player to the tv, this is the method i like to use because it separates the audio and picture.
