  • QuestionMy parents are hard of hearing even with hearing aids and I want them to try bone conduction. Can the mic be used for ambient noise amplification like watching TV or conversation? If not do you have a device that can be used?

    Asked by JimC.

    • Answer Hi Jim- Shokz here! While Shokz has a strong community of individuals that are hard of hearing, as a sport headphones company, we don’t have the expertise to confirm whether our headphones can work for any particular person or medical condition. Our headphones are not hearing devices; however we do have customers who use them to assist with hearing, usually by pairing the headphones to their phone and accessing a hearing aid app like Petralex, Ear Spy, Ear Trumpet, or Hear You Now. These apps use the mic on the phone to pick up surrounding sound and transmit it through the headphones. Please reach out to us if you have any other questions :) Thank you!

  • QuestionDoes this bluetooth announce callers?

    Asked by SweetT.

    • Answer Hi there- Shokz here! While the OpenComm2 headset themselves does not announce the name, you will receive an audible alert for incoming calls, which can be answered using the multifunction button. You can also use the voice assistant on your phone (like Siri or Google Assistant) by holding the button, which can be used to identify callers, but this is a function of your phone, not a direct feature of the headset's firmware. • QuestionIs this headset compatible with cloud-based contact center and phone systems such as NICE CXone?

    Asked by Shannon.

    • Answer Hi Shannon- Shokz here! Thanks for reaching out. It appears that the OpenComm2 headset is compatible with cloud-based contact center and phone systems like NICE CXone, and with other softphone applications. This is because the OpenComm2 functions as a standard Bluetooth headset, which allows it to be selected as an audio device within most desktop softphone applications. Your computer recognizes the OpenComm2 as a wireless headset through its standard Bluetooth protocol. As long as your computer can pair with the headset, you can select the OpenComm2 as your microphone and speaker in the audio settings of any software-based phone system. The NICE CXone Integrated Softphone, and many other similar applications, supports any standard USB or Bluetooth headset as a user-selected microphone and speaker device. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

    Asked by Louis.

    • Answer Hi Louis- Shokz here! Modern technology allows Shokz to significantly reduce sound spill while maintaining comfort. These headphones are specifically engineered to balance openness with minimal sound escape. Advanced acoustic designs optimize speaker placement, resulting in less audio bleed than other open-ear models. Leakage remains minimal even at moderate volumes.
