• A:Answer Hello, We have this device installed with our system in the garage. The device has an upper and lower temperature alarm. If the temperature gets below or above the low or high setting (user definable), simplisafe will notify you through an alert. We get a text and phone call when the garage temperature has fallen below our low setting. I hope this helps.

Q: QuestionCan you put this inside a freezer to notify you if the freezer gets too warm? For example, it loses power or someone leaves the door open?

• A:Answer It’s really designed the other way around. You can set it to a temp, and it notifies you if it goes over, like with AC. However, being it is Bluetooth and runs on a 2032 lozenge battery, I don’t know if the signal will penetrate the steel case, or if it will work at zero degrees. I don’t think so. Try calling the SimpliSafe help line.

• A:Answer They have two plans. 15.00 or 25.00. The latter gives you the ability to monitor and to control your system using your tablet or phone. The former does not allow remote control. It is worth the extra 10 dollars to have their 24.99 plan.

When added to the system, you can set it to trigger a warning of a specific high temp, as well as a low temp. You'll get notifications through the SimpliSafe app, and can even check the current temp remotely. And if you have active Monitoring Service, we'll also give you a call!

It can communicate with the Base Station through the radio, to generate a warning when a low temp or high temp is triggered. But to receive notifications through the SimpliSafe app, you'll need at least a WiFi connection at the location.
