A:AnswerThis is the Temperature Sensor, an add-on piece for a full SimpliSafe security system. It can communicate with the Base Station through the radio, to generate a warning when a low temp or high temp is triggered.
But to receive notifications through the SimpliSafe app, you'll need at least a WiFi connection at the location.
A:AnswerYes it will. I recently had my alarm go off when my temperature in the house dropped below 60 degrees. This was the threshold I set in the app.
A:AnswerThe Temperature Sensor can be set to both a low threshold and a high threshold. It's intended for warning you if a given room has become too hot, or too cold. However, it doesn't update fast enough to detect a real fire emergency. We recommend installing our Smoke Detector for that purpose.
A:AnswerThe Temperature Sensor, like all other SimpliSafe sensors, should be able to last up to 3-5 years. However, it does need to link up with the SimpliSafe Base Station, which should be plugged in at all times.
