A:AnswerYou need to have the SimpliSafe base station to subscribe to the services. We pay around $25/month and have full system monitoring. So about 25 sensors on does and windows, three cameras, three keypads, doorbell and smart locks on all doors. So much better than past systems we have had. The camera on the doorbell is great.
A:AnswerI love my doorbell. I replace a Ring with this doorbell.
One thing you should know is that it requires a 2.4 ghz internet connection. If you have a mesh system, like I did, you will have to make sure that your router does have the 2.4 ghz. That was the only challenge I had.
A:AnswerDoes it work at all? If not, you might need a larger transformer. Transformers are rated by volt-amps or "VA" I do not know what the VA requirement is for the SimpliSafe door bell. Transformers are cheap and you should be able to get one at Home Depot, Menards, Ace or even Best Buy. It is ok to use a higher rated transformer but not a lower rated one. Make sure the transformer match the existing which is most likely 110 volts "primary" and 16 volts "secondary". Typically they have several wires for the secondary voltages - 12, 16, 24. When you install it don't just match the colors of the wires.
A:AnswerThe camera should be added to your account. You should be able to install the SimpliSafe app to her phone and log into your account so that she can monitor things as well.
A:AnswerYes you can. Also on iPhone or Android phones. You do not need to sign up for monitoring to use the doorbell but monitoring maintains the videos for a period of time.
A:AnswerAs previous noted, it is not suggested to turn the camera horizontal. I have the app on a Galaxy S9, can turn the live feed as full screen but replays seem to be smaller box.
