“Hi there, I tried using Kenwood Speakers, and when the volume gets past 13, the unit turns off the speakers are old Kenwoods KS 201 HT, 100w 8ohm. The volume does not get loud what so ever before the unit goes into protection mode and shuts down.”

Either you have the wires connected right on the reciever side and not the speaker side or the reciever is too powerful for the speakers
