To me, the ohms do not matter, its the sound... so while i cannot talk to you about the ohms, I can tell you about my experience. i am using older Polk bookshelf speakers for L/C/R and its like I am listening to a better set of speakers, and I was not disappointed with them at all before I bought this receiver. I think one of the reasons you will be happy is it does come with a microphone you plug in the front that runs a test to determine how to set itself up.
