- Answer Find somebody on an online marketplace that has a blown reciever unit, and buy the system for the speakers, as long as they're 6ohm or better. Otherwise buy Polk Audio speakers, they're low on cost but big on sound.

QuestionI have this hooked up to Sony floor speakers, center & dolby atmos speakers, and two subwoofers. Why is it so difficult to hear people speaking in movies? I turn the volume way up to hear speaking, but then the background audio is blaring loud.

QuestionI have a 4K firetv block connected to this receiver to an LG 4K tv through the arc port and it will not broadcast in true UHD. Is it the arc port preventing this, the firetv, or the tv itself. I’ve troubleshot everything but the receiver.

- Answer first make sure you have a true UHD cable and regular HDMI want enhance the signal. Check for picture that should tell you if your are running best available in top right corner of tv when powered on it will either say hd or uhd. Receiver if you are running true UHD it will auto enhance when you power it on its sets itself by signal of strength at least mine did

QuestionI have built in speakers thru out my house and on patio that were put in when house was built 11 years ago. Will this work with them and also can it be used as home theatre also?

- Answer this is my breakdown, if going to use surround sound works better at little higher volume. if listening to music or tv, movie if want to hear equally in every room use multi-channel if you are in the room use enhanced under music it to me is better for multi-level sounds but only uses front and rear speakers so only comes out 2 channels

QuestionI plugged my stereo headphones into the receiver jack, but I only get sound from the left earphone. The system automatically defaults to two channel when a headphone is attached. Any suggestions? Thanks.

- Answer Hello Kerry, We're sorry to hear that. Power reset the unit, simply unplug the unit and wait 1-2 minutes then plug the device back in and power on. Also, double check if the headphones are properly connected. When connecting headphones to the receiver, [Headphone(2ch)] is selected as a sound field automatically. Regards, David

QuestionWhat does it mean when the recommended amplified power for my new speakers is 25 - 75W? All the receivers I've looked at deliver well over 100W. Does this mean they'll potentially blow out my speakers?

- Answer Hello Sparky Thank you for the interest! We recommend connecting wired speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. We also recommend using speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge. These are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver Regards, David

QuestionGot 4K HDR TV and this receiver. Plugged 2.2 compliant hdmi cord from my PlayStation 5 to the receiver and 2.2 hdmi cord to TV. The ps5 says it cannot display a picture in 4K AND HDR. It’s 4K or 1080p and HDR. Both cords work from ps5 to TV. What’s wrong?

QuestionI bought this in Dec and I've sent it out to be repaired by sony warranty twice now. It will not produce surround sound in 5.1 surround modes. Not in hdmi or optical and no one can seem to fig this out. Any help?

QuestionCan you use two subwoofers with this receiver? I know it has 2 inputs for subwoofers, but I think I heard that even with the 2 inputs it still only will play one sub at a time? Or something like that.

- Answer Hi Tmac, If you have two subwoofers, you can connect them to both SUBWOOFER OUT jacks. Some speakers or the subwoofer may not output sound, depending on the sound field setting. So we recommend using correct sound field and speaker pattern to output sound on both subwoofers. Regards, David

QuestionI have aSamsung uhd 7 series tv and a zvox sound bar connected via optical cable. As I have bad hearing I would like to attach a a/v receiver to tv so I can listen with wired headphones while wife listens with zvox. Can that be done with this Sony ?
