- Answer I wish I could give you better news, but this system says on the back of the box that it can handle 8-16 Ohms. Perhaps you can find a better solution through the web but its not looking good from me at least.

QuestionCan I use this for strictly a stereo receiver to push my ceiling speakers? Seven speakers at 125w a piece. Would have 4-5 different zones. Rather than a theater receiver?

- Answer Hi Clueless, The maximum speakers that you set up with this AV receiver i s 5 speakers and 2 subwoofers. We recommend connecting wired speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. The STRDH590 doesn't support a zoning function. Regards, David

QuestionHello, I am looking for a receiver that can connect to outdoor wireless speakers for my patio. I would also like to know of outdoor wireless speakers that will connect to the receiver and the maximum distance between receiver and speakers. Thank you.

- Answer You can hook up wireless speakers. Wireless speakers come with a transmitter/receiver which plugs in the back of the receiver. Distance would be based on the speakers you purchase and don't have to be the same brand.

QuestionMy old receiver allowed us to watch tv and listen to music at the same time. I had to buy a chromecast to allow us to do this. Will this receiver allow us to do the same? With/without a chromecast? I tried hooking it up but every time it switches screens

- Answer Yes. 5.2 is 5 channels w 2 subwoofer imputs, hence 5.2 the .2 represents (2)qty imputs for 2 subwoofers. Nice heh! Ps; look at the back panel of this reciever online. It shows all the imputs outputs etc.

- Answer Yes. You should have either an rca option (red and white) or 3.5 mm headphone jack option. Both of those can be used with adapters if needed depending on the types of connections you have on your CD player and your personal preferences. You might even have the option of an optical connection depending on how 'fancy' your older CD player is. - Answer Find somebody on an online marketplace that has a blown reciever unit, and buy the system for the speakers, as long as they're 6ohm or better. Otherwise buy Polk Audio speakers, they're low on cost but big on sound.

QuestionI have this hooked up to Sony floor speakers, center & dolby atmos speakers, and two subwoofers. Why is it so difficult to hear people speaking in movies? I turn the volume way up to hear speaking, but then the background audio is blaring loud.

QuestionI have a 4K firetv block connected to this receiver to an LG 4K tv through the arc port and it will not broadcast in true UHD. Is it the arc port preventing this, the firetv, or the tv itself. I’ve troubleshot everything but the receiver.

- Answer first make sure you have a true UHD cable and regular HDMI want enhance the signal. Check for picture that should tell you if your are running best available in top right corner of tv when powered on it will either say hd or uhd. Receiver if you are running true UHD it will auto enhance when you power it on its sets itself by signal of strength at least mine did

- Answer this is my breakdown, if going to use surround sound works better at little higher volume. if listening to music or tv, movie if want to hear equally in every room use multi-channel if you are in the room use enhanced under music it to me is better for multi-level sounds but only uses front and rear speakers so only comes out 2 channels

QuestionI plugged my stereo headphones into the receiver jack, but I only get sound from the left earphone. The system automatically defaults to two channel when a headphone is attached. Any suggestions? Thanks.

- Answer Hello Kerry, We're sorry to hear that. Power reset the unit, simply unplug the unit and wait 1-2 minutes then plug the device back in and power on. Also, double check if the headphones are properly connected. When connecting headphones to the receiver, [Headphone(2ch)] is selected as a sound field automatically. Regards, David
