NOTE: When the audio source does not contain much bass sound, the bass sound may not be audible.

Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately the MHC-V71 does not have a built-in battery. You will need to connect it directly to the wall outlet for power.

We do apologize for the confusion. Unfortunately, this unit cannot be charged, it needs to be plugged into a wall outlet to power the unit. You might want to check these Sony home audio systems that can be charged with a built-in battery: GTK-XB90 and GTK-XB60.
