Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes absolutely! It does a great job with live view or play back directly from the HD. I installed them at the company I work for. We have shops in a few different states and we don't have the system at our home office hooked up to internet. I put a 32" flat screen in my office that is directly wired to the HD and have 1 camera set to show on half the screen and the other 7 rotate every 15 seconds on the other half. There are three different recording settings you can pick from: 1. 24/7 recording on all cameras 2. record all cameras between certain hours 3. record only on cameras when motion is detected. In case you do connect to internet one day. A decent high speed connection is best. A slow connection is agonizing to load up and the live video is very low quality. BUT it does the job we need it to. Hope this is helpful! I highly recommend the Swann systems. We did A LOT of research before purchase and Swann was the best bang for our buck and easiest to get running quick!
