We would recommend that you contact our customer support team and request a replacement power supply unit. It is very likely that this is the cause of your issues.
Not using the correct voltages or power supply units can/will lead to permanent damage of the recorder.

A:AnswerQuestion 1 is no my setup is my router is downstairs and the tv that the dvr and cameras are hooked to is upstairs. It works good. Question 2 yes unfortunately you will have cables running thru your house cause I have 2 cameras in the front and 2 in the back and also the cable connected to the router. The only way to hide the wires is you would have to go thru the walls ,ceilings and attic my neighbor paid someone to take hers thru the attic and down thru the ceiling in her 2 story house.
