  • QuestionWhat does rolling cloud mean and how much does it cost after the free period ?

    Asked by Jack.

    • Answer Hi Jack. Rolling means that the cloud storage is ongoing and that the newest day of clips replaces the previous day of clips. With this Xtreem4K camera you get 1 day of free cloud storage for the life of the product. What that means is that at any point in time you will be able to see the last 24 hours of cloud clips for free. If you choose to subscribe to Swann's Secure+ plans then the 24 hours of cloud backup becomes 60 days. Our subscription service is completely optional and also has other benefits included. In addition to cloud storage, this camera includes a 32GB MicroSD card which will give you many weeks/months of local storage as well. -SD, Swann Team

  • QuestionI was trying to connect Wifi but the camera said connection failed because , " this camera not support 5G ,2.4G only can you tell me pls how to connect ?

    Asked by TinL.

    • Answer Thank you for your inquiry, ZoLand. This camera can only operate on a 2.4GHz WiFi network, as it does not have a 5GHz radio built in. The 2.4GHz band is used because it provides a longer wireless range compared to 5GHz. To connect the camera, you can try the following: - Check if your router has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. - If they share the same name (SSID), your camera may try to connect to the 5GHz band. - Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and ask them to: - Create a guest network that uses 2.4GHz only, or - Separate the WiFi names for 2.4GHz and 5GHz so you can select the correct one. Once you have access to a 2.4GHz network, your camera should connect successfully. Mary – Swann Team

  • QuestionMy question is that is it 24/7 recording option ?

    Asked by Talha.

    • Answer Hello Talha. The Swann Xtreem4K Wireless Security Camera does not support continuous 24/7 recording. As a battery-powered device, it utilizes motion and heat detection to trigger recordings, thereby conserving battery life. This design allows the camera to operate for up to six months on a single charge. If you are looking for 24/7 recording our wired kits are a great option! Hope this helps. LV - Swann Team

  • QuestionCan I use this camera to replace one of the Swann NVW 500 cameras in my Swann security system?

    Asked by SUNCITY915.

    • Answer Hi SunCity. No, the AllSecure hub is only compatible with cameras from the AllSecure family of products. There have been 4 different AllSecure cameras models over the years that would work with your hub (NVW-500CAM; NVW-800CAM, NVW-600CMB, NVW-AS4KCAM). The first two model plug into a wall socket and the second two run on battery. This Xtreem4K Camera operates independently and connects directly to a Wi-Fi network. You pair it to the same Swann Security app account that your AllSecure system is on, which means you can see all your current cameras, plus this new one, in the same app screen.

  • QuestionCan this be added to the SWANN app that also includes other Swann cameras (NVW800) on the same app?

    Asked by Secure.

    • Answer Thank you for your inquiry, Secure. Yes. This is compatible with the Swann Security app, so you can view it alongside your other Swann cameras in the same app. Mary - Swann Team

  • QuestionCan this type of camera be connected to a TV so that the live feed can be monitored continuously, 24/7??

    Asked by M.

    • Answer Hi M. No, these cameras cannot be directly connected to a TV for continuous live feed monitoring. They can only be controlled via the Swann Security app. The cameras do not have an HDMI port or support local viewing on a TV or monitor. They are designed as standalone wireless cameras. If you're looking to monitor live feeds on a TV, you would need a system with a hub or a recorder that supports such connections. Mary - Swann Team.

  • QuestionCan this camera be connected/viewed within the swann dvr?

    Asked by Heckulater.

    • Answer Hi Heckulater. Only wired DVR cameras can be connected to a DVR, however you can mix and match from Swann's entire product range and view them all on your phone under the same Swann Security app account. That means that when you open up the main live view screen in the Swann Security app, you can see DVR cameras, this Xtreem Battery Camera, our wireless doorbells, and others... all streaming at the same time in the same screen. The only difference is where clips are stored - your DVR camera clips would be saved to the DVR's hard drive, whereas wireless cameras would be saved to their SD Card & cloud. -SD, Swann Team

  • QuestionWe are looking for a camera that you can view on your PC not strictly on the phone. We are old and use it to watch wildlife and it would be so much easier to watch it on either our TV screen or a PC.

    Asked by Ginger.

    • Answer If you only use one camera, you can watch the video live after logging into Swann's website. While using the laptop, I noticed that as a free user, I could only call up live view on one of our two cameras. On the phone app, we see both views great. Still a great camera and user support.

  • QuestionI would like to mount this outside on my garage which if 65' from the house and the router is another 30' inside from the closest outside window to the garage. Is there any chance this will pickup the wifi signal from that distance?

    Asked by Fred.

    • Answer Hi Fred. There is a small chance this camera can work at the distance you have mentioned, however this would not be guaranteed as it's a long distance for a Wi-Fi signal and will also depend on what other devices are nearby, the construction of your walls, any other obstacles in the way etc. For a product that would easily cover the distance I would recommend looking at Swann's MaxRanger4K product instead. This range has a new wireless technology called Wi-Fi HaLow which has been specifically designed to work over long distances and is better at penetrating through walls or other objects. -SD, Swann Team
