A:AnswerNO! I just bought this Tablo product, and the web page https://www.tablotv.com/for-roku/ says I can use a Roku Express to get the HDMI input needed for my 50" TV. The audio is fine, but the video is UNWATCHABLE. See pic.
I know the DVR recordings are pristine, because the Tablo app on my Android phone plays perfectly. The Roku provided audio is fine, but the video is unwatchable. So instead of watching on my 50" TV, I can only watch on my tiny Pixel 4.
Everything else on the Roku Express plays perfectly (Peacock, Max, etc.). It's only Tablo app on the Roku platform that won't play recordings.
Tablo tech support tells me it's a known problem, but they can't give an ETA for a solution. So I'll be returning this product to Best Buy before the return deadline.
I hope no one else has to go through the misery I've been dealing with.
A:AnswerMost workable solution for us has been to add the TABLO app to our menu on our ROKU devices and then use the ROKU remote. The ROKU Ultra series works well since it incorporates a power on/off button controlling the TV set. One lesser ROKU version had trouble that buffered and pixled the TABLO feed on OTA live shows.
A:AnswerThe Tablo requires an OTA antenna. The limiting factor will be your antenna reception. You will be able to watch/record whatever channels you can receive with your antenna. If channels have poor antenna reception, the Tablo will not be able to receive those channels.
I haven't noticed the Tablo hurting or helping the reception.
A:AnswerUnfortunately, Tablo does not supply apps for Windows or Mac PCs, and there is no web browser app. But you can connect an Android phone or Tablet to the computer and mirror/control the app using Genymobile scrcpy.
A:AnswerYes you do need internet. The 4th Generation Tablo is designed to have consistent high-speed internet access and will not function optimally without it.
A:AnswerThe 4th Gen Tablo can connect to your home network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet; however, we don't recommend connecting via Cellular Data and Mobile Hotspots.
A:AnswerGo to the app store on your smart device and search for "Tablo," if so fully supported. Here is a link to Tablos supported device list: https://support.tablotv.com/hc/en-us/articles/13954983793940-Tablo-Compatible-Apps-and-Devices
A:AnswerIs Tablo warranted by Best Buy are y’all ? Been working with y’all for the last month and nobody been able to help . Works sometimes & then don’t . Trying to use on new lg.
A:AnswerTABLO is a virtual DVR that enables you to watch and record over-the air channels it picks up when it scans.
I have ROKU STICK plus TABLO.
ROKU does give you the option to download/subscribe to a streaming service (at your cost) - example HULU. - offering tiers or add-ons that include NFL and BIG TEN. If your goal is to eliminate the expense of cable and streaming services - as was mine - that option might not be appealing.
A:AnswerI returned my Tablo because it caused my screen to lock up then go black. I used it with Roku. So I can't answer your question. Wish it had worked.
