QuestionI already have a Wifi router, but trying to extend it. Should I use the same network name and password as my current router? Or I do need to put my old router in Bridge Mode? Also to extend the range would I use this in Access Point Mode, or Router Mode?

- Answer I would create a new network name and password. I used the same one and now I have two networks with the same name.

QuestionDeco M4 spec’s say “Separate devices by band for better traffic management”. Somewhere I read that it’s best to use 5g for streaming and gaming and leave 2.4 for other use. It doesn’t appear possible to select by device with the M4. Are spec’s incorrect?

- Answer Hi! The Deco M4 utilizes intelligent algorithms and band steering to help ensure optimal connectivity to Deco nodes and Wi-Fi bands. That said, a large role is still played by the Wi-Fi client devices (phones, laptops, etc.) in prioritizing one band over the other. Some devices will have Wi-Fi options/settings that allow you to configure a priority or preference for 5GHz or 2.4GHz.

QuestionI have a 2400 SF house with metal stud construction and a porch with glass sliders and concrete block walls. Will this provide good coverage throughout my house including the porch?

- Answer It may work, but to guarantee that you'll get signal you will want to move up into a device that uses Powerline to make sure the concrete and metal do not cause interference.

QuestionI currently have a Netgear modem/router combo unit and am curious if I just plug this into that ( and then I have 2 routers?? ). I'm a little confused as to how that works. Thanks for any input.

- Answer Your modem remains the same but the router will be replaced by this. This equipment is extremely easy to install and start using. This is perhaps my best investment ever. Also, you can control pretty much everything from your phone app since this equipment comes with an app. The wi-fi just shot up to the next level with this. Buy this without any hesitation.
