  • QuestionDoes this decode LPCM?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Vizio....he said LPCM. Obviously it supports PCM. Does this support lossless audio or have you backed out on that too just like you did with hdmi 2.1? I don't see dolby truhd anywhere anymore. If you don't support lpcm 5.1 or dolby truhd...this soundbar isn't even getting unboxed. I can't believe I paid a thousand dollars for a soundbar and I cannot find out if this soundbar supports dolby truhd or not

    Asked by Jeff.

  • QuestionWHAT'S the watts

    Asked by Tom.

    • Answer Rather than measuring in wattage which is just a measurement of power draw, we measure sound bars in sound pressure level, or dB. This sound bar goes as loud as 107dB with a frequency response of 30Hz - 20kHz.

  • QuestionDoes open box-excellent come with warranty and can be returned or not?

    Asked by Noor.

    • Answer Open Box-Excellent I purchased.I've had trouble with my Vizio elevate sound bar just after 11 months. Remote control was not controlling soundbar all the time I also paired it the sound bar to the Vizio OLED H1 which the ad says connect seamlessly. While using the TV remote control there was big delays in the sound to the sound bar. I did not have this problem with pair to TCL TV prior sometimes I couldn't even power the sound bar on and off with the remote I have other Vizio remotes that work with all sound bars usually Vizio sent me a brand new remote which did the same thing. Contacted Vizio said they were going to send me a brand new soundbar complete. Had me upload a credit card on a link and told me that I had 15 days after receiving new sound bar to return old one I called two days later. Because someone in their support called me and left a message about a 51-in TV that they don't even make but made me call them these support person contacted their supervisor I guess and told me that it was canceled and that it was out of warranty I said why and they said because it was open box I was furious that they didn't even send me an email telling me this after they had me upload to a link my credit card to hold $999 I asked for a supervisor to talk to he didn't seem like he was from another country and was so so knowledgeable about the product I told him the problem I was having he was telling me Best Buy does not give manufacture warranty on open box I called Best Buy that evening and their customer service told me yes they do offer manufacture warranty now if you search the internet Google you will come across the same answers as yes it covers it. Also there is an old Best Buy policy that says yes. Funny thing is when I share that link to myself when I go to my e-mail and click on the link it brings me somewhere else on Best Buy site. Best Buy does not clearly put this policy in writing anywhere on their website that I can find This is a bit shady I will be contacting Vizio again the person left me their phone number and said they would get back with me they were going to check on something and just left a message. I've had I have two other sound bars made by Vizio and the remote they sent me works on them turning it on and off but not always on this elevate there is something wrong with it. Best Buy needs to clearly mark that they're open box needs to come with manufacturers warranty there can be no question about it and it would also be a selling point. Only thing I've come across is some people who purchase items register them and if that item isn't sold till 6 months later open box manufacture may only give 6 months more on it but it should be corrected by the receipt I had to upload that to Vizio also but when they saw open box excellent after one of their foreign support employees approved it it must go higher up and they look for ways to cut you out which is pretty petty. Some other companies try the method of saying did you have it plugged into a surge protector and if you say yes they're going to tell you to contact that company cuz they warranty up to so many thousands of dollars try and collect on that I don't think one person has yet so say no and they will proceed it's happened to me and my family member. I am uploading a picture screenshot of Best buy's policy on open box warranty try and find it on their website you won't. PS I did purchase an extended warranty on Amazon I would not buy the geek squad it is too high a priced and I heard that they are lousy when they take your product and it could be gone for months and come back and worst condition. Just look at some of the reviews on the geek squad reviews. I will be doing a factory reset on the sound bar and hopefully that will correct the problem but if it doesn't I will be contacting that person at Vizio on Monday and tell them. If I don't have a resolution I will be contacting with the state that governs their licenses to protect consumers under the warranty. It's not my first rodeo I've done this before with a car engine at the warranty company said they weren't covering a pre-existing condition it took 5 weeks with me not having my car but the engine was replaced.

  • QuestionMy soundbar drops sound for a few secs & returns spontaneously. Other times sound won't return until I turn the soundbar off/on. The video continues to pass through without an issue during these episodes. Defective unit or firmware update fixable?

    Asked by Dilip.

    • Answer I would assume this is most likely an issue with your HDMI cable (length, quality, etc) or your source. You don't mention if you are streaming or playing a disk or server or how it is hooked up. Without giving us more details it is impossible to properly troubleshoot, but based on what you have said, I would bet money it's a problem somewhere else down the line and not the sound bar itself. To test this, Try a new, shortest possible HDMI, a different port if possible from your source, remove any sources in the middle, ie: take the most direct route to the sound bar, removing gaming consoles or streaming boxes along the way, or simply try other sources to try to find the problem. DO NOT try to test with streaming sites, too many variables added there. Use a good old fashioned DVD/BluRay/4K player plugged directly into the sound bar and if that doesn't work, plug directly into your TV and run HDMI from the TV's ARC to the sound bar. Lots of things you can try before assuming its a defective bar or update needed. good luck

  • QuestionDoes the system work well if you have a vaulted ceiling in your family room?

    Asked by Grateful.

    • Answer I would say no. Normally you want 10 foot or less to get effect from upward firing speakers in terms of Dolby Atmos and DTS X. You'll want a traditional Dolby Atmos setup with overhead sounds. Although, I hear the Nakamichi - Shockwafe Ultra 9.2.4 is pretty versatile in satellite angle placement. It might suit your room well enough. For normal listening, this soundbar gets plenty loud with good bass and fills a room easily otherwise.

  • QuestionCan you control the volume of the upward firing drivers on front and the surround speakers?

  • QuestionDoes this soundbar support 4k120 dynamic HDR passthrough + VRR + ALLM?

    Asked by JasonBB.

    • Answer No it does not. 4k60. No soundbar at the moment has vrr allm or 4k120. Only a few a/v receivers even support it. And they are expensive. Look for the denon and marantz models that support 8k. Those have 8k60 4k120 vrr allm. Also there are 2 yamaha models that don't have many channels (7.2 at its highest) that say they're getting 8k60& the works in a future update
