A:Answer Vivid is the WORST possible picture mode for your tv, in fact it only exist to sell the tv by competing with the lights on the showroom floor, by maxing out most of the color, brightness and contrast settings to ridiculous extremes. Whites are not supposed to be bluish and the reason your blacks are too black, is because the Vivid mode is crushing them and destroying detail in the pic along the way. The best pic modes for this tv or any for that matter are calibrated and calibrated dark, with on this tv, the "normal" color temp (which is the closest to 6500k color temp, which most movies and tv shows are produced at), and which out of the box are pretty accurate. If your worried about video games, use the tv's "Game" picture setting with "normal" color temp and adjust to your liking from there. That being said, even though I'm a certified display calibrator for at least 10 years and have calibrated hundreds if not thousands of consumer and professional displays, don't take it from me, do your research on proper tv calibration.
