Q: QuestionHow often are we supposed to replace the filter. I don't use the water from refrigerator. Just some ice cube once in a while. So why the replace filter indicator turns ON every 6 months?

- A:Answer If you are using it for ice cubes than you are using the filter. if the fridge is making ice that is using the filter.

- A:Answer I contacted LG yesterday to inquire about recycling refrigerator water filters. Although they have a recycling program and recycle appliances, they do not recycle refrigerator water filters. I'm still looking for other options.

The difference between the filters other than compatibility with refrigerator models are the NSF International Standards that each filter is tested and certified for that defines the reduction of substances for the standards.The LT1000P is system tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42, Standard 53 and Standard 401 and the LT700P is system tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42, Standard 53...^Ivan
