A:AnswerI have DVD videos stored on external hard drives but these videos are not stored as just one big file and so require a DVD player program to play the video seamlessly. The video, on the DVD, is stored in sections, as multiple video files, and can only be played back seamlessly because of the DVD player or because of the DVD player software. In addition, some player programs, will not play the videos without a HDMI display connection, for copyright protection. There is software, available, that will take the video files, on the DVD, and convert them into one long file that you can store on your hard drive. However, this file will then no longer have the playback features that you get when you play the video from the DVD or with a DVD player program.

A:AnswerIt won't be fast enough to install Series X games on; you need an SSD for that but older games should run fine (albeit a bit slow) from it as long as it's formatted properly once you connect it to your Xbox.
A:AnswerHi ET1212,
You may run diagnostics using WD Drive Utilities to check the health status of the drive.

A:AnswerI own this hard drive, and if it is encrypted, it is not noticeable. All of my Windows programs work fine with it. All hard drive data must be converted from its' storage format to the normal computer data format to allow it to be used but this is not actually encrypted data. I have been able to test this drive using Windows hard drive commands and so it is unlikely that any encrypting of data is being done. Normally, encrypting requires software, on your computer, to allow you to access the encrypted data, and I have found that I do not need any special software to use this drive.
A:AnswerYes it will work with xbox ones of any kind. It is a slower spinning drive instead of SSD so games may take a bit longer to load but you're buying capacity not speed.
A:AnswerThis will work with a PS4 but keep in mind the PS4 can only see up to 8TB of external storage so any drive larger than this limitation would not be a practical choice.
