Q: QuestionIs this compatible with a J3 Orbit Samsung phone?
Asked by 011eNigma235.
- A:Answer Ah ha! great question. Many people don't know but the Android operating system uses the old DOS and early Windows FAT16 file allocation table for its files. FAT 16 is history in Windows they now use the NTFS file system. Hence you can still plug any Android phone into of Windows computer USB port and transfer files from your phone to a Windows computer. Windows still accept and reads FAT16 files. I do it all the time. Here's the problem with your desired goal. The USB cable that comes with this WD digital drive will NOT be compatible with your Samsung USB port. So No it won't work. And don't waste time trying to get a USB adapter. There are none.

Q: QuestionIs the connecter on disk side a Micro-B 3.1? If I buy a usb-c to Micro-B 3.1 cable as in the pic, can I use it on macbook pro which has no regular usb port? Thanks
Asked by greentea23.
- A:Answer It has a Micro-B 3.1 plug on the device. It comes with a Micro-B 3.1 cable to regular USB. Of course you can also use a regular micro-USB cable to USB. As far as a MacBook Pro, it depends on the model. I have a 2013 Model so it does have USB and thunderbolt plugs. If you have the new one, you would have to get an adapter from Micro-B 3.1 (or micro USB) to USB-C. Dollar General has lots of cable and adapter suggestions.

Q: QuestionJust bought this and am leery of hd since I've had so many fail, I plugged it in and keep getting the initial exe popup every time I use the internet, can I reformat it with win10? Thanks in advance.
Asked by dogbytes.
- A:Answer did you buy a Mac formatted WD? I have windows 10 and that never happens with the windows 10 version running on my HP PC? Of course i use the hard drives for storage only and before using them, just take all the wonderful software they WD provide and put it in a new folder marked WD stuff. I am never bothered with it again. Nor am i asked if i want to connect to a web page when running the HD for storage even when connected to the internet. Perhaps you have set up the hard drive to act as back up??? does it want to contact the cloud storage to do that? best thing to do is talk to the guys at Best Buy and they can help- you?

Q: Questionwill it work with PlayStation 5
Asked by ray000.
- A:Answer its a usb connection, interchange of data can be slow due to it being a harddrive system. Should be ok to store game data on but would worry about interchange of live action data not being stored or accessed with adequate speeds. Wonderful disk if looking to store data in general as that is whar unit is really made for. Buring throught sectors to gain data works too butwill not be instantaneous data retrieval.

Q: QuestionWill this work for PlayStation 5??
Asked by hotjjpcool.
- A:Answer Hi hotjjpcool, Sony added support for external USB hard drives on the PS5 with their April 2021 update. However, due to PS5 restrictions, games can only be played off the console’s internal SSD. As such, external USB storage hard drives only function as a faster way to hot-swap games and data on or off the PS5’s internal storage. -Need Help? Please see our "'Contact Us" page for information

Q: QuestionWhat does it do
Asked by BossBabie1.
- A:Answer It's for backing up files to free room on your main computer or laptop. Including files, documents, pictures, video, etc. It can free up room on your main computer and it can save or archive items for you. There usually is a sync program. I like to deactivate that and manually choose what files I want to copy to the external drive. I take a lot of pictures and this allows cheap storage of rather large megapixel images. If you shoot video same would apply. You can free up space on your main desktop or laptop computer and if it ever goes belly up you have all your important stuff still saved on an external hard drive. Hope this simple info helps BossBabie1
