• A:Answer It comes with a cable that you just plug into your USB port. You will be able to move or copy anything to it that you can download or that is sitting on your PC. No software setup required. Just plug in, make sure you locate where the drive is (on my laptop, my hard drive is C:\ and this devices comes up as E:\ so I make sure anything I save or move or copy to this external hard drive is on E:\). From there, you can create your own file folders such as: E:\Photos of Canada Trip

• A:Answer Back up drives should usually be twice the size of the drive you’re backing up. You want to be able to store at least two backs ups on the drive. So yes, it will do back ups provided it is large enough to accommodate your drive.

• A:Answer If you are using the WD Backup software, it will only backup what has changed since the last backup. If it did not complete the prior backup, it will pick up where it left off.

• A:Answer I was caught by surprise i had to install wd app before being able to use the hard drive.. The installation seemed stuck at18% for about 10mins now.. Forcing people to downliad app before using the device is really unethical especially the device is and box is similar to the previous ones i bought which could be used just by plug in.. I hope the ceo and the team who did this is sacked for this.... Its jyst unethical and not customer orientated.. Users should be given a choice for wanting to use the app or not..

Q: QuestionI am running Mac OS Catalina and I connect a windows 10 formatted WD External 2TB, and I am not able to see the Drive nor to mount the Drive. Is it compatible with Mac OS Catalina? Do I need to install a driver for Mac OS???? Regards

• A:Answer So if youe use it with MacOS you need to format the drive to a Mac Compatible format. Open up Finder, under your applications folder there should be a folder called "Utilities". Within that folder you are looking for the application called "Disk Utility". Once you open the application you should see your new drive on the sidebar on the left. Select it, then select "Erase" which is found on the top part of the screen. You will be prompted with a small window where you can change the name of your drive so it is easier to identify so I suggest you rename it. You will also be asked what format you want to use for which I usually use APFS unless you would like to use the drive with a windows machine as well in which case I recommend setting it to ExFat. Once you click erase your computer will take care of the rest and when it's done you should see the drive appear on your desktop. Hope this helps
