It has its own remote, but once it’s set, you only have to set it again after a power failure. It’s a strip about 22” that is set behind the TV or anywhere you choose to place or hang it. A:AnswerUnfortunately the numbers and buttons on the remote are rather small,, but I'm sure you could buy a universal remote with larger numbers and buttons to make it easier for this issue
