QuestionCan the lock be rekeyed?

- Answer Yes, but if you do buy this lock, you should rekey the core that comes with it because its face fits flush to the surrounding body of the lock.. That said, I would NOT buy this lock. I bought two and within three months, both died for the same reason. I was just changing the batteries and the locks would no longer respond. I have been going through a warranty replacement for one, and just today the second failed. I now want a full refund and never want to see these locks again.

QuestionCan one operate the lock using the August app? Can one operate the lock remotely via z-wave using a z-wave hub connected to wifi (to preserve battery)?

- Answer Yes, you can choose to use the August app. This lock does not work with Z-Wave systems but we do sell a Yale Assure Lock 2 with Z-Wave that you can purchase!

- Answer The Assure Lock 2 is designed to withstand the elements. Note that the Assure Lock 2 is for an entry door and is not intended for outdoor use on a gate or fence.

- Answer I highly doubt it. The battery cover just snaps into place. Water could easily collect on the top of the inside part and find its way into the battery compartment.

- Answer The Asuure Lock 2 Smart Lock Wi-Fi does have the ability to work with Apple Home. It can be keyed to match different manufacturers. You will need to contact our Customer Service team at 855-492-0505 opt.1, prior to purchase and provide the keyway code.

- Answer You can, the app shows them all. But please don't waste your money on this lock. It is attractive but has major quality problems. I bought two of these, and both died within 3 months. I mean, dead. The electronics completely stopped working. The only way to use them is with the physical key. I rely on this for my elderly mother's apartment and my own in a condo. I'm so upset about this, I am now refusing the warranty replacement and want my money back. I doubt I'll get it back, but I'm on here hopefully trying to dissuade at least enough people from buying this to equal the amount in damages they caused me.
