The cords had protective covers on them that appeared to be part of their construction, so it was not obvious that something had to be removed. Neither the converter, nor the required cord had any instructions indicating anything had to be removed from the cord before plugging in, and the diagrams in the instructions were so primitive, it was not clear anything needed to be removed. Even the associate at the store did not realize this to be the case until he had worked with the product for a period of time.

I cannot be certain where the problem lies if it the TV, or the converter. When I am on Netflix or Prime, I only get a loud noise from my audio receiver. That is why I gave it only 4 stars. If it is not the converter then it would be 5 stars.

New TV does Not have the correct outlet for his wireless device. As a result, in order to go from the cable box to the DVR, it was necessary to move his device cable from one to the other. In addition, he was unable to take advantage of any of the apps on the TV - Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. Fortunately, the Best Buy folks were able to work with me to find a solution. Enter this nifty product! Was extremely simple to install with the purchased-separately cable. Now we can both enjoy watching and listening to our new television comfortably without moving cables.
