Be careful - it’s not for everyone

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setting it up is a pain - I was forced to sign up for their ink purchase thing before I could get the printer to work with the Mac. It is really, really difficult to get it to work with Linux (Ubuntu) so if you don’t have windows or Mac look elsewhere. They tell me I can cancel the ink by mail thing and the printer will still work. Really difficult to get it to scan a document (impossible in Ubuntu, never got it to scan for my windows machine either). Seems hp is so busy trying to get money out of you for their subscription ink thing they forgot to make a printer that could be used across different platforms. Be careful.

You have to have a little knowledge about electronics and the internet and how they connect. What I don't like is there is no indication that you are low on ink. I'm guessing when the print starts to fade or the machine will maybe let me know. I just have extra on hand waiting to see what happens.

Prints a little slower than I expected, but otherwise works fine. Set up was not difficult. Still learning how to use various features.
